Not allowing for latitude or cloudy days. Do you think sucking 1/20th of the energy from 1.12% of the Earth's surface might cause WEATHER changes? you bet. Global weather change the hard way. But at least it would be cooling right? at 5% actual efficiency (not just theoretical, hand maintained, or low volume) we would need to COVER 1.12% of the earth’s surface with collectors to provide USA standard of living energy to all 8 billion people.
